Rajasthan Chief Minister Announces Rajasthan Civil Code 2026
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced the introduction of the Rajasthan Civil Code 2026 to establish a uniform legal framework for all state citizens.
Bhajanlal Sharma, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, announced the introduction of the Rajasthan Civil Code 2026 during an Independence Day function at Dr Karni Singh Stadium on August 15, 2026. Sharma stated that the legislation intends to create a uniform legal framework for all citizens in alignment with Article 44 of the Constitution.
Beyond the legal framework, the Chief Minister detailed the state's Viksit Rajasthan vision for 2047. This development agenda includes infrastructure expansion and major energy initiatives, specifically the Mahi-Banswara nuclear power project and the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Project at Pachpadra.
Sharma also addressed state security and social order, noting the enactment of laws to prevent unlawful religious conversions. He stated that the government is following a "zero tolerance policy towards crime and corruption" to ensure peace and security across the state.
