Apple Exports $13.2 Billion in iPhones from India

Apple exported more than $13.2 billion worth of iPhones from India between April and August 2026, representing a nearly 47% increase over the same period in the previous year. These exports accounted for 82% of India's total smartphone exports, which reached $15.96 billion during those five months.

The growth follows a new mobile phone manufacturing scheme introduced by the Government of India in April 2026. Under this expansion, Apple shifted its local operations from basic assembly to the production of complex components, including enclosures and PCB assemblies. The company now utilizes Indian facilities to produce flagship models, such as the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, for immediate global distribution alongside its production lines in China.

India's broader electronics exports rose 34% to $26.66 billion during the same window. While Apple led the surge, other manufacturers including Samsung and Dixon also contributed to the overall growth of the sector.
