Congress Demands Resignation of Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya Over Body-Shaming

Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya is facing intense political backlash after a video surfaced showing him commenting on the physical appearance of BJP councillor Sandhya Yadav. During a public infrastructure inauguration in Indore on Sunday, Vijayvargiya remarked that Yadav's "width has also increased a little" and that she had "put on some weight," prompting laughter from the audience.

The Indian National Congress condemned the comments as body-shaming and "unfortunate," with leaders demanding Vijayvargiya's resignation. Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma described the minister's language as "shameful" and alleged that Vijayvargiya is experiencing professional instability under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. In contrast, Sandhya Yadav defended the minister, describing him as a father figure and urging the public not to misinterpret the interaction.

BJP MLA Usha Thakur also defended Vijayvargiya, suggesting the comments were intended as health advice for someone he views as a daughter. The controversy expanded as BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma faced separate criticism for suggesting that Muslim men attending Garba celebrations should bring female relatives, a stance Thakur partially supported while distancing herself from Sharma's claim that "our boys are ready."
