Israeli Settlers Attack Bedouin Community Near Ramallah

Israeli settlers attacked the Arab al-Kaabneh Bedouin community east of Taybeh, near Ramallah, on Friday, August 7, 2026. According to the Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, attackers stormed the community and forced livestock into Palestinian homes while assaulting members of the Naif Kaabneh family.

Israeli army forces provided protection for the settlers during the incident. This followed a violent attack on Thursday evening that injured three family members and led to the arrest of Suleiman Kaabneh by Israeli forces.

The Al-Baidar Organization describes these repeated assaults as a "maximum-pressure policy" designed to forcibly displace Bedouin communities. The Kaabneh family reports facing daily attacks for roughly three years, with a sharp increase in frequency over the last three months.

Data from the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission indicates a broader pattern of violence in the region. The commission tracked 3,488 attacks across the West Bank during the first half of 2026, which resulted in the displacement of 26 Bedouin and pastoral communities.
