Republicans Spend Millions to Unseat Representative Adam Gray

Republican groups are spending millions of dollars to unseat Adam Gray, the Democratic Representative for California's 13th Congressional District. Former Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln is challenging Gray in a race for a swing seat that Gray previously won by only 187 votes.
The Congressional Leadership Fund, a GOP-aligned super PAC, has spent over $4.34 million on advertisements attacking Gray's legislative record and alleging he profited from a state-funded road project. In contrast, the Democratic-aligned House Majority PAC has spent less than $400,000. High-profile party leaders have entered the fray, with Speaker Mike Johnson rallying support for Lincoln in Chowchilla and House Democrats' campaign chair Suzan DelBene supporting Gray in Modesto.
Lincoln's platform emphasizes cutting taxes, reducing government spending, and increasing public safety. Gray positions himself as a bipartisan leader, citing endorsements from the California Farm Bureau and collaborative legislation with Republicans. Both candidates are targeting registered Democrats who occasionally vote Republican, known as Valleycrats, to secure the district.
