easyJet Expands UK Operations with New Routes and Aircraft

easyJet launched new flight routes from Liverpool and Newcastle airports and based an additional aircraft at Liverpool to meet rising travel demand.

Budget carrier easyJet expanded its UK operations during the first week of August 2026, launching several new routes from Liverpool and Newcastle. On August 4, the airline introduced direct flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Naples, Italy, and Seville, Spain. To support this expansion, easyJet based a ninth aircraft at the Liverpool hub, an Airbus A320 with 186 seats, which officials stated would enhance operational resilience and support hundreds of regional jobs.

Simultaneously, easyJet grew its presence at Newcastle Airport, launching four new summer routes to Reus, Tenerife, Prague, and Sharm el-Sheikh between August 1 and August 3. This growth follows the opening of a new base at the airport in March, which allowed the airline to quadruple its network to 31 destinations. Newcastle Airport expects a record-breaking summer with more than 1.4 million passengers.

Airline and airport officials described these developments as milestones in their respective partnerships. easyJet also announced five winter routes in June for Newcastle passengers, connecting the North East to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hurghada, and Rovaniemi.
