Belgian Beer Dynasties Sell €731 Million Stake in AB InBev
Eugenie Patri Sebastien sold a 10 million share stake in Anheuser-Busch InBev for €731 million through a block trade arranged by JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Eugenie Patri Sebastien, an investment vehicle representing Belgian beer dynasty families including the Van Damme, de Mevius, and de Spoelberch, sold a €731 million stake in Anheuser-Busch InBev on Monday. The transaction consisted of a block trade of approximately 10 million shares priced at €73.10 each, reflecting a 2.8% discount from the previous Friday's closing price.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. arranged the offering, which followed a 37% increase in AB InBev's stock price throughout 2026. Following the announcement, AB InBev shares fell as much as 2.5% to €73.32 at the market open.
AB InBev continues to focus investments on its megabrands to address falling beer consumption in the United States and Europe. The company attributes this decline to increasing cost-of-living pressures and consumer health concerns.
