International Holding Company Reports 220 Percent Profit Surge

International Holding Company reported a second-quarter profit of $3.5 billion, driven by energy and mining growth and an aggressive international investment strategy.

The Abu Dhabi-based International Holding Company reported a 220 percent surge in second-quarter profit, reaching Dh12.8 billion ($3.5 billion). The conglomerate's growth was primarily driven by a 355 percent year-on-year revenue increase in its energy and mining sectors, alongside gains in hospitality and leisure. For the first half of 2026, net profit attributable to shareholders climbed 225 percent to Dh17.9 billion, while total revenue increased nearly 35 percent to Dh64.9 billion.

Chief Executive Syed Basar Shueb attributed these results to operating performance, disciplined capital allocation, and active portfolio management. To support further growth, the company is executing its second Dh5 billion share-buyback program and plans to invest up to $8 billion over the next six months.

IHC has significantly expanded its global footprint through high-profile investments and partnerships. Recent activities include stakes in OpenAI and SpaceX, a liquefied natural gas deal in Mexico, the acquisition of First Women Bank in Pakistan, and an $11.5 billion aluminium project with India's Adani Group.
