Navi Raises $100 Million From Prosus Ahead of IPO
Navi secured $100 million in its first institutional funding round from Prosus to fuel expansion and prepare for a second IPO attempt.
Digital financial services startup Navi secured $100 million in its first external institutional funding round from Dutch technology investor Prosus on August 19, 2026. The investment, executed via Prosus subsidiary MIH Payments Holdings BV, values the Bengaluru-based company at approximately $1.3 billion, a decrease from the $2 billion valuation sought in 2024.
Founder Sachin Bansal had previously funded the business primarily through his own capital and debt since its inception in 2018. The new capital will support the expansion of Navi's suite of services, including insurance, mutual funds, UPI payments, and lending through Navi Finserv, which has surpassed ₹13,000 crore in assets under management. The company reported consolidated profitability in the fourth quarter of FY26 and currently ranks as India's fourth-largest UPI application by volume.
Navi intends to use the funding to strengthen its balance sheet as it prepares for a second initial public offering attempt this fiscal year, aiming to raise approximately ₹3,000 crore. This follows a previous attempt in March 2022 that was shelved due to market volatility. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval from the Competition Commission of India.
