Brookfield Invests $600 Million in ACME Cleantech Ventures

Brookfield, a U.S. alternative asset manager, will invest up to $600 million in ACME Cleantech Ventures to develop green ammonia and green methanol projects. The investment is being executed through the Brookfield Global Transition Fund strategy and marks the firm's entry into the low-carbon fuels sector within the region.

ACME Cleantech Ventures intends to use the funding to support a pipeline of projects in India and Oman, expanding production for both domestic and export markets. The company has already secured supply agreements with several domestic and international partners, including Yara International of Norway, IHI Corporation and Mitsubishi Gas Chemical of Japan, and various Indian buyers.

This investment comes as industrial demand for green fuels increases, with companies seeking to meet decarbonization targets and reduce their reliance on fossil fuels.
