Mattel Appoints Roger Lynch as CEO and Chairman
Mattel named Roger Lynch as its new CEO and chairman, succeeding Ynon Kreiz, who is leaving for a leadership role at another public company.
The board of Mattel, Inc. appointed Roger Lynch as its new CEO and chairman, succeeding Ynon Kreiz. Lynch, a board member at the toy company since 2018, will assume the chairmanship on October 2 and take over as CEO by November 2. Kreiz is stepping down after more than eight years to pursue a senior leadership position at another public company.
Lynch is concurrently resigning as CEO of Condé Nast, a role he has held since 2019, though he will remain on that company's board of directors. During his tenure at Condé Nast, Lynch noted that digital subscriptions grew by 155% and commerce revenue increased by 170% since 2020.
Mike Perlis, the lead independent director at Condé Nast, will serve as interim CEO while the board searches for a permanent replacement. Shares of Mattel, Inc. fell more than 2% on Wednesday following the announcement.
