Mercedes-Benz Partners With Wayve for AI Driving Systems

Mercedes-Benz signed a global strategic partnership with UK-based start-up Wayve on September 22, 2026, to integrate Wayve's autonomous driving system into future vehicles. The collaboration focuses on advanced point-to-point driving assistance for both urban and highway environments, with integration expected to begin within the next two years.

Chief Technology Officer Jörg Burzer described the agreement as the first time the Wayve AI Driver will be integrated into the premium automotive segment. Wayve CEO Alex Kendall noted that the partnership combines the start-up's embodied intelligence with the carmaker's vehicle engineering and safety expertise to scale intelligent driving technology for global markets.
