Apple Redesigns Health App With AI-Powered Health Age
Apple released the iOS 27.3 developer beta featuring a redesigned Health app that uses Apple Intelligence to calculate biological health age and movement metrics.
Apple released the iOS 27.3 developer beta on November 4, 2026, introducing a comprehensive redesign of its Health app powered by Apple Intelligence. The update centers on a new Longevity tab featuring Health Age, a metric that compares a user's biological health against their chronological age by analyzing VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep, and heart rate variability from Apple Watch data.
The redesigned interface includes an Insights tab for holistic daily summaries of vitals and sleep, and a For You section that provides habit-based recommendations. The app also introduces at-home movement evaluations, utilizing on-device vision-based AI and the iPhone camera to measure a user's strength and flexibility.
Beyond the Health app, the beta includes Live Rewind and Siri Recap for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, alongside a new Fitness+ Gym Strength program. Apple also launched a Developer Preview to allow third-party apps to integrate with Siri AI via App Intents. While the redesigned Health app will be a free software update for Apple Intelligence-enabled devices by the end of the year, CEO John Ternus stated the company is preparing to charge for expanded access to certain AI features.
