Amazon CEO Says AWS Cloud Capacity Sold Out Through 2027
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced that AWS cloud capacity is largely sold out through 2027 due to intense enterprise demand for AI infrastructure.
Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon, announced that Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing capacity is largely sold out through 2027. Speaking during a video podcast, Jassy stated that significant commitments have already extended into 2028, driven by insatiable demand for AI infrastructure from AI labs and enterprises.
While the company maintains some capacity for on-demand services such as EC2 and the Bedrock inference service, the majority of large-scale capacity is already committed. Jassy noted that Amazon has planned approximately $220 billion in capital expenditure for 2026 to address these needs.
Jassy indicated that Amazon could increase this capital expenditure further, suggesting that additional investment would be a productive use of capital given the current levels of demand.
