Essar Energy Transition Secures $400 Million in Bank Financing

Essar Energy Transition secured $400 million from NatWest, ABN AMRO, and Natixis CIB to fund liquidity and low-carbon decarbonization projects.

Essar Energy Transition, the low-carbon investment arm of Essar Group, secured $400 million in financing facilities from three banks in the United Kingdom and Europe. The funding package includes a $350 million Receivables Purchase Agreement split equally between NatWest and ABN AMRO, alongside a $50 million commitment from Natixis CIB.

Company leadership intends to use the capital to strengthen liquidity, improve working capital efficiency, and support long-term growth and decarbonization plans. This move follows a broader commitment by the Essar Group to invest 4.3 billion pounds in low-carbon energy transition projects across the United Kingdom by 2035 to bolster economic growth and energy security.

Satish Vasooja, the company's chief financial officer, stated that the increased commitment from existing partners and the addition of a UK high-street bank supports the business performance and fuels strategy of the organization.
