Lawrence Wong Visits Bangkok for Singapore-Thailand Leaders' Retreat
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will meet Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul in Bangkok on September 2 to review defense, economic, and social cooperation.
Lawrence Wong, the Prime Minister of Singapore, will visit Bangkok on September 2, 2026, for a leaders' retreat with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. This meeting marks the first retreat for both leaders and the first such event between the two nations since 2015.
The leaders plan to review existing defense and economic cooperation while exploring new partnerships in energy resilience, food security, transnational crime, and the green and digital economies. A central outcome of the visit will be the exchange of a memorandum of understanding between Singapore's Ministry of Social and Family Development and Thailand's Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to deepen cooperation in social sector development.
Prime Minister Wong will travel with a delegation of cabinet ministers and Singaporean business leaders. The visit will include an official dinner hosted by Prime Minister Anutin.
