Jaguar Land Rover Opens Orders for Electric Range Rover

Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc has opened orders for the first electric Range Rover, pricing the luxury SUV starting at £154,070. The vehicle offers a testing range of 372 miles and supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes.

Production is based at the Solihull plant in the West Midlands. The company is manufacturing the electric model on the same assembly lines as combustion and hybrid vehicles, a strategy designed to manage fluctuating consumer demand for battery-powered cars.

The launch occurs as the company, owned by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., increases its focus on the United States market under the leadership of CEO P B Balaji. This strategic shift comes while the automaker manages external pressures, including high US tariffs and the aftermath of previous cyberattacks.

The Range Rover Electric enters a competitive high-end segment against the Mercedes G 580. Additionally, the company faces growing pressure from lower-cost Chinese imports, such as the Jaecoo 7.
