Google Adds elevate.io Video Editor to Chromebook Perks
Google integrated Blackbird plc's browser-native video editor elevate.io into its Chromebook Perks program, starting with a pilot launch in the United Kingdom.
Google has integrated elevate.io, a browser-native video editing platform developed by Blackbird plc, into its Chromebook Perks program. The partnership offers Chromebook owners exclusive discounts, including 50% off monthly pay-as-you-go plans for six months or 25% off annual subscriptions.
Because elevate.io operates entirely within the browser and requires no local hardware installations, it is positioned as a professional-grade tool for the global Chromebook user base. Ian McDonough, CEO and Executive Chair of Blackbird plc, stated that the collaboration validates the company's decision to build video editing tools for the browser to ensure accessibility across any device.
The program launches in the United Kingdom in October 2026 as a test market. Google and Blackbird will use the results of this pilot to determine the feasibility of expanding the offer into other global territories.
