Teads Sues Google and Alphabet Over Ad Tech Monopoly

Teads Holding Co. filed a lawsuit against Google LLC and Alphabet Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on August 3, 2026. The company seeks financial damages and legal remedies, alleging that Google utilized exclusionary ad tech practices to restrict fair competition and distort the digital advertising marketplace.

The legal action follows a prior ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, which concluded that Google engaged in unlawful anticompetitive and monopolistic conduct within specific digital advertising technology markets.

Teads CEO David Kostman stated that the lawsuit aims to recover financial losses and restore transparency and competition for publishers and advertisers. He asserted that Google used its dominance to suppress fair competition and distort the ecosystem to its own advantage.
