India Leads Global AI Adoption in EY 2025 Survey

Ernst & Young identified India as one of the highest adopters of artificial intelligence globally in its 2025 Work Reimagined Survey. The report, which assessed 29 global markets, shows that 62% of Indian workers use Generative AI regularly to improve decision-making and task quality. India leads the group with an AI Advantage score of 53, significantly higher than the global average of 34.

Indian employers and employees report high confidence in the technology, with 90% of employers and 86% of employees stating that AI positively impacts productivity. India also recorded the highest Talent Health score of any surveyed geography at 82, compared to a global average of 65. This metric measures employee sentiment regarding workplace culture, rewards, and development.

Despite these gains, the survey highlights a gap in professional development. While there is a shared belief that new skills are essential, most global employees spend fewer than 40 hours per year on AI training. The data indicates that structured skilling is necessary to reduce employee turnover and maximize weekly time savings.
