Tesla Secures $30 Billion Credit for AI and Solar
Tesla secured $30 billion in new credit agreements to fund AI infrastructure, solar manufacturing, and a semiconductor project with SpaceX.
Tesla secured $30 billion in new credit agreements on September 29 to support accelerating capital expenditures and artificial intelligence initiatives. The funding consists of a $20 billion delayed draw-term loan facility, an $8 billion five-year revolving credit facility, and a $2 billion 364-day revolving credit facility.
The company plans to allocate the funds toward AI compute infrastructure, solar cell-manufacturing capacity, and a semiconductor fabrication project conducted in partnership with SpaceX. Elon Musk stated that Tesla and SpaceX are targeting 200 gigawatts of annual solar production.
Although Tesla forecast capital expenditure exceeding $25 billion for 2026, the company reported no outstanding borrowings under the new facilities as of September 29 and does not currently plan to draw on them during the 2026 calendar year.
