ADNOC and G42 Partner with OpenAI for AI Integration

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and G42 signed a deal with OpenAI to integrate advanced AI capabilities across energy operations during a visit by Sam Altman.

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and AI firm G42 signed an agreement with OpenAI on November 2 to integrate advanced artificial intelligence capabilities across ADNOC's operations. The deal coincided with a visit to the United Arab Emirates by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who attended the ADIPEC oil exhibition and met with Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The partnership arrives during a period of regional instability. Security concerns regarding potential military conflict between the United States and Iran led ExxonMobil and Chevron to recently cancel executive travel to the UAE.

U.S. President Donald Trump previously stated he would not attack Iran before the November 3 midterm elections, but he later indicated that Washington might carry out another military operation against the country.
