Lebanese Soldier Killed by Explosive Device in Mansouri
The Lebanese Armed Forces are investigating an explosion in southern Lebanon that killed one soldier and wounded two others.
A Lebanese soldier died and two others, including an officer, were wounded Saturday after a military vehicle struck a suspicious explosive device in the town of Mansouri, southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Armed Forces launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blast.
The Israeli military stated the device did not belong to its forces and attributed the explosion to Hezbollah, claiming the group likely placed the device. Israeli officials further alleged that the Lebanese army vehicle entered a designated security zone without the required prior coordination and maintained that Israeli soldiers had not been present in the area recently.
