The document provides a roadmap for airports to transition to electric ground support equipment (eGSE) by 2027, focusing on moving from high-level commitments to scalable execution.

Data from Ground Support Worldwide indicates that nearly 65% of airports intend to invest in eGSE fleets over the next five years, yet over 70% report that their current charging infrastructure is insufficient. The report highlights that barriers vary by scale: major hubs are primarily limited by power availability, while regional airports struggle with knowledge gaps and planning.

To mitigate these challenges, the report suggests that large airports in the United States could reduce total system costs by up to $10 million by implementing battery energy storage systems. Enatel executives emphasize that durable charging equipment and long-term infrastructure strategies are essential to meeting sustainability goals without disrupting daily airport operations.
