Premier Energies Commissions India's Largest Solar Cell Facility

Premier Energies Limited commissioned a 7 GW N-type TOPCon G12R solar cell manufacturing facility in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, establishing itself as India's largest solar cell manufacturer. The new plant brings the company's total production capacity to 10.6 GW.

The facility was developed with a capital expenditure of ₹3,293 crore across 101 acres. The digitally enabled plant utilizes artificial intelligence for predictive performance analysis and a Zero Liquid Discharge system for water recycling. It is capable of producing approximately 88,000 solar cells per hour with a target average efficiency of 25.8%.

Managing Director Chiranjeev Saluja described the project as an important execution milestone that provides the scale to serve demand for high-efficiency solar products with greater supply reliability. To further integrate its manufacturing platform, the company is planning backward integration through 10 GW ingot and 10 GW wafer projects.
