France Industrial Production Rises 0.1% in June

France's industrial production rose by 0.1% in June, according to data released Wednesday by the Institut National De La Statistique Et Des Etudes Economiques. This figure represents a slight rebound from a 0.1% decrease in May, though the growth fell short of the 0.3% monthly increase forecast by economists.

The growth was primarily driven by a 4.2% increase in output within the utility sector. However, manufacturing output declined by 1.1%, accelerating the 1.0% drop recorded the previous month. This downturn was largely caused by a 12.0% slump in the production of coke and refined petroleum products, alongside a 3.8% contraction in the manufacture of transport equipment.

On a yearly basis, French industrial production advanced 1.9% by the end of the second quarter.
