Vanessa Best Scales Precision HealthCare Consultants Beyond $1 Million Revenue
Vanessa Best scaled her healthcare research firm past $1 million in annual revenue using business certifications and strategic networking to overcome capital access barriers.
Vanessa Best, founder and CEO of Precision HealthCare Consultants, scaled her healthcare research and advisory firm past the $1 million annual revenue threshold. This achievement contrasts with data from the 2026 Wells Fargo Impact of Women-Owned Businesses report, which indicates that Black women-owned employer firms average $650,000 in revenue and frequently stall below the million-dollar mark due to systemic capital access barriers.
Best overcame these constraints by utilizing business certifications, including New York State M/WBE status and the Small Business Administration's 8(a) program. She further secured funding through a community development financial institution and leveraged the EY Entrepreneurs Access Network to expand operations into the government sector and European markets.
Precision HealthCare Consultants now employs more than 50 people. The firm focuses on recruiting minority, indigenous, and rural populations for clinical trials to improve pharmaceutical efficacy across diverse demographics. In 2021, the Minority Business Development Agency named the firm the Minority Health Care Firm of the Year.
