Türkiye Unemployment Drops to Record Low 7.6 Percent

The Turkish Statistical Institute reported on July 30 that Türkiye's unemployment rate fell to 7.6 percent in June, marking the lowest level since monthly records began in 2005. The rate decreased by 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous month.
Data shows the number of unemployed individuals aged 15 and over dropped by 168,000, bringing the total to 2.69 million. Conversely, the number of employed people rose by 227,000 to 32.73 million, while the overall employment rate increased by 0.3 percentage points to 48.9 percent.
Youth unemployment for those aged 15 to 24 saw a more significant decline, dropping 1.8 percentage points to 12.8 percent. The total labor force expanded by 58,000 people to 35.42 million, and the composite measure of labor underutilization fell by 2 percentage points to 28.8 percent.
