Tarique Rahman Pledges Security for Hindu Community During Durga Puja
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met with Hindu leaders to guarantee religious security and deployed police to 33,000 venues ahead of Durga Puja.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met with Hindu community leaders on Monday to pledge the government's commitment to the rights and security of all citizens regardless of religious identity. The meeting addressed rising concerns over attacks on the Hindu community and the necessity of protecting religious gatherings and places of worship.
In preparation for Durga Puja, which runs from October 16 to 20, the government has deployed an extensive security apparatus across nearly 33,000 venues. This plan includes round-the-clock surveillance, specialized police units, and the use of drones and helicopters for idol immersion to prevent the communal violence and temple attacks seen in previous years.
