Apple Cuts Polishing Cloth Price by Over 50 Percent

Apple Inc. reduced the price of its Polishing Cloth from $19 to $9, a price cut of over 50 percent. The off-white microfiber cloth is designed to clean Apple displays, including nano-texture glass, and was first introduced in October 2021.

While the company updated the product's compatibility list to include both newer and retired devices, the product description remains largely unchanged. The price adjustment follows previous criticism regarding the cloth's high cost relative to its simple construction.

A teardown conducted by iFixit previously revealed that the product consists of two pieces of fabric glued together, fueling the narrative that the original $19 price point was excessive for the materials used.
