Amber Beverage Group UK Collapses Into Administration
Amber Beverage Group UK ceased trading and entered administration after failing to find a buyer, resulting in mass redundancies for its staff.
The spirits and wine distributor Amber Beverage Group UK ceased trading and entered administration on October 19, 2026. The company, which operated as a supplier for major supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, and Co-op, collapsed after efforts to sell the business as a going concern proved unsuccessful.
Joint administrators Danny Dartnaill and Tim Townley of BDO were appointed to manage the process. The collapse led to the immediate redundancy of most of the company's 27 employees, although a small number of staff were retained temporarily to assist with the administration.
Established in 1999 and formerly known as Cellar Trends, the distributor had been owned by the Luxembourg-based Amber Beverage Group since 2018. The company was responsible for distributing brands such as Writers’ Tears Whiskey and Moskovskaya Vodka across the United Kingdom.
