Election Officials Urge Voter Registration Across Three States

Election officials and lawmakers in Georgia, West Virginia, and South Carolina are mobilizing voters ahead of the November 3 general election. In Georgia, Harold Jones, the Senate minority leader, led an event in Augusta to explain the registration process and encourage the use of online tools. In Decatur County, officials reported an increase in registered voters to 18,694, with early voting scheduled to begin October 13 at the Courthouse Annex in Bainbridge.

In West Virginia, Secretary of State Kris Warner launched a Sample Ballot Lookup Tool on September 29, allowing residents across all 55 counties to view and print their specific ballots. Warner reminded residents that the deadline to register or update information is October 13, with early in-person voting running from October 21 through October 31.

South Carolina officials have established strict registration deadlines. The South Carolina State Election Commission set Sunday, October 4, as the deadline for online and faxed applications, while mailed forms must be postmarked by October 5. Isaac Cramer, the Charleston County Elections Executive Director, urged returning voters to verify their information via the SCVOTES system. Early voting in South Carolina will run from October 19 through October 31.
