Dolce & Gabbana Debuts Collection Amid £400 Million Debt
Dolce & Gabbana presented a new womenswear collection in Milan to attract Gen Z customers while managing a debt pile of nearly £400 million.
Dolce & Gabbana presented its Stravaganza Siciliana womenswear show in Milan as part of a strategic effort to attract Gen Z customers and reinforce its Italian identity. The fashion house is currently navigating significant financial instability, managing a debt pile of nearly £400 million.
To address these liabilities, the company reached an agreement with its banks in August to extend the debt settlement deadline to March 2028. This extension is contingent upon the execution of extraordinary corporate transactions, which reportedly include the sale of certain properties. Unlike many of its competitors, the brand remains independent of conglomerates like Kering or LVMH.
Internal leadership is also shifting. Stefano Gabbana stepped down as chair earlier this year and is reportedly considering options for his nearly 40% stake in the company. Domenico Dolce, a design partner of 41 years, co-presented the new collection alongside Gabbana.
