Akasa Air Shifts Mumbai-Jeddah Flights to Navi Mumbai Airport
Akasa Air will move its Mumbai-Jeddah flight operations to the new Navi Mumbai International Airport starting in December 2026 to enable terminal redevelopment.
Akasa Air and Adani Airport Holdings Ltd announced a phased transition of the airline's Mumbai-Jeddah flights to the new Navi Mumbai International Airport beginning in December 2026. This relocation follows similar commitments from IndiGo and Air India Group to move operations to the greenfield facility.
The transition supports a broader strategy to implement a dual-airport system in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. By shifting these flights, the region creates the capacity required to redevelop Terminal 1 at Mumbai International Airport, which will increase its annual passenger-handling capacity from 15 million to 20 million.
Adani Airport Holdings Ltd, the operator of both facilities, stated that historical slots at the existing airport will be restored once the redevelopment is finished. Bookings for the relocated Akasa Air flights opened on October 26, 2026.
