Matt Little Wins Democratic Primary for Minnesota's Second District

Matt Little, a progressive former mayor and state senator, won the Democratic primary for Minnesota's Second Congressional District on Tuesday. Little defeated State Representative Kaela Berg and State Senator Matt Klein in a three-way contest to replace Representative Angie Craig.

Little campaigned on a platform of banning corporate money from politics and supporting "Medicare for All." He also drew attention for his criticisms of data centers and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. His victory was supported by the endorsement of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, which provided him with essential party resources and volunteers.

Little will now advance to the general election to face Republican candidate State Senator Eric Pratt, who ran unopposed in the Republican primary. The district, located south of the Twin Cities, is generally considered to favor Democratic candidates.
