Iran Warns Israel and U.S. of Severe Military Retaliation
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian military leadership threatened severe retaliation against Israel and the United States while expanding financial ties with Pakistan.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian military have issued warnings that any further attacks on Iran will trigger a response far more severe than previous actions. Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, an IRGC spokesperson, specifically warned that if Israel damages Iranian facilities, Iran will render Israeli territories barren. Mohebbi suggested the United States might initiate a war for political purposes due to upcoming elections, though he claimed Washington lacks the technical capacity for another conflict.
Major General Ali Abdollahi, Chief of the General Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, stated that Iran is prepared to defend its sovereignty under any circumstances. Reports indicate Iranian leadership views a joint U.S.-Israeli attack as inevitable and is positioning for preemptive strikes against U.S. bases in West Asia, Gulf energy infrastructure, and undersea cables. Abdollahi characterized the United States as an aging superpower that failed to subdue Iran during the Donald Trump administration.
To counter U.S. sanctions, Iran and Pakistan are expanding a post-American financial order using currency swaps, barter trade, and banking channels through Bank Melli and Bank Mellat. In other regional developments, Israeli military intelligence personnel reportedly left Riyadh after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman declined a U.S. offer of assistance. Meanwhile, spokesman Yahya Saree of the Yemeni Armed Forces denied Saudi claims that a cruise missile attack targeted Medina.
