Samsung Unveils Flex Titanium Ahead of July 22 Unpacked Event
Samsung Electronics will debut the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 in London on July 22, featuring new Flex Titanium display technology.
Samsung Electronics is preparing to launch its next generation of foldable devices at a Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026. The lineup is expected to include the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and a premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
Central to the new hardware is the introduction of Flex Titanium technology. This display structure replaces traditional polymer layers with a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate. The film provides 20 times the mechanical stiffness of polymers while remaining roughly one-third the thickness of a human hair. This system aims to reduce screen crease visibility and increase resistance to external shocks. Samsung has also integrated high-resolution architecture and new organic materials to enhance power efficiency.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature a wider, shorter form factor with a 5.5-inch cover screen and a 16:10 aspect ratio to improve one-handed use. It will be available in Cream, Graphite, Lavender, and an exclusive Pistachio color. To support the launch, Samsung is partnering with Marvel to link marketing to the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline.
In a shift from previous years, Samsung is ending its free double storage upgrade promotion for pre-orders. Due to rising global costs and shortages of RAM and storage components, the company will instead offer a 50% discount on the price difference between storage tiers for the new foldable models.
