Vodafone Study Finds Millions of Britons Suffer Battery Anxiety
Vodafone research shows 46% of UK smartphone users experience weekly battery anxiety, making battery life the second most important factor in new device purchases.
Research commissioned by Vodafone Idea Limited reveals that millions of people in the United Kingdom suffer from battery anxiety. The study found that 46% of UK smartphone users report their battery nearly dies at least once per week. This stress is most acute among Gen Z and Millennials, who rank the prospect of a flat battery as more stressful than running late or losing their keys.
The data shows the average smartphone spends three hours plugged into a charger daily. Consequently, battery life has emerged as the second most important factor for consumers when purchasing a new device, ranking above storage and camera quality.
To mitigate this anxiety, mobile experts recommend four specific settings to extend device longevity: enabling Low Power Mode, lowering screen brightness, disabling background app refresh, and keeping software updated.
