Google LLC Lays Off 52 Employees Across Washington State

Google LLC announced the permanent layoff of 52 employees across its Washington state operations on Wednesday. A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing specifies that the reductions impact personnel in Kirkland, Redmond, and Seattle, along with three remote workers residing in the state.

The cuts are distributed by location, with 21 employees removed from Kirkland facilities, 20 from Seattle offices, and eight from the Redmond office. While the layoffs primarily targeted software engineers, the company also eliminated positions for managers and designers.

Notifications for the affected staff were issued between July 8 and August 4. Final separations are expected to take place between September 6 and October 4. The company stated that employees will receive all pay and benefits due up until their termination dates.
