Sonam Wangchuk Accuses Indian Ministers of Breaking Photo Agreement

Sonam Wangchuk alleged that the Indian government breached a specific agreement regarding the release of photographs taken when he ended a 26-day hunger strike on July 24, 2026. Wangchuk claimed that Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, along with Intelligence Bureau officials, agreed to withhold images of their late-night meeting at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram until opposition leaders and student representatives could be included to show a joint effort.

Wangchuk stated that the agreement was violated when photographs showing ministers offering him soup appeared on television within minutes. He began his fast on June 28 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi as part of a protest over the NEET issue led by the Cockroach Janta Party. The strike concluded after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced stricter measures to prevent paper leaks.
