Japan Airlines Orders Up to 26 Embraer E190-E2 Jets
Japan Airlines ordered 16 Embraer E190-E2 aircraft with 10 options for its regional subsidiary J-Air to replace its aging first-generation fleet.
Japan Airlines ordered up to 26 Embraer E190-E2 aircraft for its regional subsidiary, J-Air. The agreement includes 16 firm orders and 10 options, with deliveries scheduled to begin in fiscal year 2029.
The new jets will replace J-Air's current fleet of first-generation E170 and E190 aircraft. This procurement follows a similar move by competitor All Nippon Airways, which increased its firm order for E2 jets to 23 aircraft earlier this year.
The Embraer E2 family competes directly with the Airbus A220 in the regional aviation market.
