Platinum Equity signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Trime, an Italian manufacturer of security towers, generators, and mobile lighting towers. The transaction includes co-investments from Trime founder and chairman Andrea Fontanella, CEO Paolo Tacconi, and other members of the company's management team.
While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, a consortium of banks including Intesa Sanpaolo, UniCredit, BPER Banca, Crédit Agricole, BNL BNP Paribas, and Deutsche Bank is providing the debt financing. The acquisition is expected to close in early 2027, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
Platinum Equity plans to execute a growth strategy for Trime that focuses on expanding sales coverage in the United States and increasing overall production capacity. The firm also intends to improve spare-parts availability and warehousing while pursuing selective acquisitions to scale the business.
