China Condemns Japan Over Nuclear Policy Discussion Remarks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China condemned Japan following remarks by the Japanese defense minister advocating for unrestricted discussions on nuclear-related policies. Chinese spokesperson Lin Jian stated on July 21 that such comments are highly provocative, dangerous, and rare in Japan's post-World War II history.

Beijing characterized the remarks as an exposure of Japanese "neo-militarism" that has "bared its fangs." The Chinese government asserts that the advocacy for these discussions suggests an ambition to break away from the Three Non-Nuclear Principles and poses a direct challenge to the international order established after World War II.

Lin Jian called for the international community to remain highly vigilant in response to these developments, framing the Japanese position as a threat to regional stability.
