Oakland County Begins Early Voting for August 4 Primary

The Government of Michigan is implementing a nine-day early voting period for the August 4 primary election in Oakland County. In-person voting begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, and continues through 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 2. This window fulfills the state requirement established by the voter-approved Proposal 2 constitutional amendment.

Registered voters can access various designated sites, including a central location at the Waterford Oaks Activity Center. The Oakland County Clerk's Office is managing these sites and coordinating voter information to ensure accessibility during the window.

Statewide demand for flexible voting options remains high. The Michigan Department of State reported that nearly 2 million absentee ballots were requested as of July 16. Data from the November 2024 general election indicates that over 60% of voters used early or mail-in ballots, with 21% of those early voters having not participated in the 2020 election.
