Gelion plc signed a Material Transfer Agreement with a top 15 global automotive manufacturer to evaluate its sulfur-based cathode technology for electric vehicle batteries.

Gelion plc entered into a Material Transfer Agreement with a top 15 global automotive original equipment manufacturer to evaluate its Nano-Encapsulated Sulfur (NES) cathode technology. The agreement involves the supply of sulfur-based cathode active material, coated cathodes, and liquid electrolyte for testing in both liquid and solid electrolyte configurations.

The evaluation targets pathways for luxury and mass-market electric vehicles utilizing lithium metal and graphitic anodes. Gelion claims the NES platform can be integrated into existing battery production lines without requiring major re-tooling. The company has not disclosed the identity of the automotive partner or the specific financial terms of the deal.

CEO Matt Wood stated that the agreement represents progress toward generating commercial revenue through funded programs and future licensing and royalties in the global electric vehicle market.
