Asaduddin Owaisi Seeks Alliance to Stop BJP in Uttar Pradesh

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has invited like-minded political parties to form an alliance for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Speaking at rallies in Kanpur and in New Delhi, Owaisi asserted that no single party can defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alone and committed to announcing potential alliance partners by October 2.

Owaisi stated that the primary goal of the AIMIM is to establish independent political agency and leadership for the state's Muslim community, which he claims has been reduced to a "vote bank." During his campaign visits to Kanpur, Shravasti, and Azamgarh, he criticized Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's policies regarding madrassas and questioned the Samajwadi Party's record on Muslim representation, specifically citing the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots.

Owaisi also raised concerns over law and order and the non-release of an SIT report regarding an alleged Ram Mandir embezzlement case. He noted that previous attempts to ally with parties like the Congress and RJD during Bihar elections were unsuccessful and met with "false allegations," warning that his current openness to cooperation should not be mistaken for weakness.

In response, BJP leader Karunasagar challenged the opposition to present a concrete alternative agenda to the public. Karunasagar argued that the current administration provides superior governance, security, and infrastructure compared to the alternatives proposed by the opposition.
