Military Strikes Hit Gaza, Yemen and Strait of Hormuz
The Yemeni military and Israeli forces launched strikes in Yemen and Gaza while an unknown attacker targeted a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
Military activity escalated across the Middle East on Sunday with strikes in Gaza, Yemen, and the Strait of Hormuz. In central Gaza, the Israeli military targeted a civilian vehicle to kill a known Hamas militant, resulting in one Palestinian death and at least 11 injuries.
In Yemen, the Yemeni military claimed responsibility for midnight airstrikes against vital targets in the capital of Sanaa and the northern province of Saada. These strikes follow accusations by Houthi rebels that Saudi Arabia launched the attacks, occurring amid a revived civil war after a four-year ceasefire.
Simultaneously, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center reported that an unidentified attacker fired a projectile at a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. The strike damaged the vessel's engine room, though no group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
