Hope Uzodimma Dismisses Davido's Warnings Over Osun Election

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma dismissed allegations made by Afrobeats singer David “Davido” Adeleke regarding the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. Davido, who leads the youth campaign mobilization for Governor Ademola Adeleke, claimed an unnamed politician from Imo State planned to interfere in the election to use it as a political battleground.

Uzodimma, serving as the chairman of the All Progressives Congress National Campaign Council for the election, characterized Davido's appeal as pedestrian. He argued that Governor Adeleke has failed in his responsibilities and that the electorate is prepared to vote him out in favor of the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

In a critique of Adeleke's political prospects, Uzodimma suggested that Davido should prepare his uncle for life after office, jokingly advising the singer to sign the governor as a dancer in his musical band once he is defeated.
