DK Shivakumar Skips Delhi Protest for Kannada Rajyotsava
Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will skip an INDIA bloc protest in Delhi to oversee Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in his home state.
Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced he will not attend an INDIA bloc protest scheduled for November 1 in Delhi, opting instead to prioritize Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in Karnataka. While Shivakumar and other state ministers remain in Karnataka to organize programs and hoist the national flag, he has directed party workers, district presidents, and block presidents to attend the national protest.
Beyond the political schedule, Shivakumar defended a recent increase in milk prices by 7-8 rupees, arguing the revision was necessary for farmers after a long gap and noting that prices in Karnataka remain lower than in other states. He also addressed sugarcane pricing and crop-loss compensation, stating the state government would request the Central Government to fix sugar prices to provide further assistance to farmers.
