China Equipment Manufacturing Exports Grow 18.2 Percent in 2026
China's equipment manufacturing sector drove nearly half of the country's industrial export growth during the first half of 2026.
China's equipment manufacturing sector experienced significant expansion in the first half of 2026, with export delivery value increasing 18.2 percent year on year. According to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, this sector accounted for nearly 50 percent of the total growth in industrial exports.
Wang Weiming, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, reported that automobile exports surged 65.3 percent to 5.096 million units. Other high-growth areas included lithium batteries, which rose 37.6 percent, and wind turbine generators, which increased 35.6 percent. The production of industrial robots grew by 28 percent, while service robots increased by 11.9 percent.
The shipbuilding industry maintained global competitiveness, with domestic vessels making up over 90 percent of all completed ships and orders. Overall, the sector's value-added output rose 6.4 percent year on year during this period.
